Govt to mould youth into good citizens: YSR

Hyderabad, Nov 14: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy on Friday, Nov 14 said youth were the asset of the nation and his Government would mould them into good citizens of the country as envisaged by India's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

Speaking after distributing awards to 17 children, who excelled in various fields on the occasion of Nehru's 119 birth anniversary and Children's Day, Dr Reddy said the State Government had started 'success schools', affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, to provide best of education to children in Government schools and bring down the rate of drop-outs after class 10th.

Underscoring the importance of nutritious food to children in their infancy, the Chief Minister said the Government would start 'Anganwadi Centres', based on the saturation concept, to cover all children.

Dr Reddy, launched on the occasion, 'child well being campaign' of the Women Development Department and Child Welfare to improve the health of mother and children and empowering adolescent girls.
