Tiruchi Corp's share Rs 24.30 cr out of German bank aid

Tiruchirapalli, Nov 13 (UNI) kfw, a German develpment bank, has exteneded finanial assistance to Tiruchirapalli city Corporation to the tune of Rs 24.30 crore to relay about 90 km of roads and provide storm water drains here, according to official sources.

The sources said the sum has been allotted to the Corporation out of the Rs 500 crore assistance by the German bank to imlement infrastructure projects in various local bodies in Tamil Nau, officials said.

the sources said while Rs 16.87 crore would be given as loan, Rs 5 crore would come as a grant. The Corporation would contribute the remaining 10 per cent of the project cost, amounting to Rs 2.43 crore from its general funds.

The Corporation as drawn up the projct to repair some of the arterial roads which had suffered damage repeatedly during monsoons since 2005, the sources said.
