Record earning in Danapur division of ECR

Patna, Nov 13: Danapur division of East Central Railways (ECR) has registered record earnings during the current fiscal.

Danapur PRO R K Singh said here on Thursday, Nov 13 that the division earned over Rs 269.65 crore from April 2008 till October 2008. In the month of October alone the Railways earned over Rs 25 crore. He said the division carried a record number of 67.94 lakh passengers last month.

The division recorded an increase of about six per cent in the number of passengers last month as compared to September this year.

He said the strength of passengers kept on increasing even after massive agitation on Maharashtra issue during which the Railways remained the prime target of the agitators in Bihar.

To cope with the rush of the passengers he said the Railways have started running several special trains in the long ruote as well as in the local routes.
