Kidwai, Hooda greet people on Gurpurab

Chandigarh, Nov 13 (UNI) Haryana Governor Dr A.R. Kidwai and Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda have greeted the people on the occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti.

In a message issued here today, the Governor described Guru Nanak Dev as a great social reformer who propagated the message of truth, mutual understanding and peace.

The Chief Minister said that although Guru Nanak Dev founded Sikhism, but he belonged to the entire humanity. His teachings were more relevant even today.

He said that Guru Nanak Dev was a great social crusader who tried to eradicate social evils and superstitions from the society.

Mr Hooda urged the people to celebrate such festivals with traditional fervour as these strengthen national integration and communal amity.
