Govt to introduce insurance scheme to Handicraft workers
Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 13 (UNI) The Kerala Government will introduce an insurance scheme for Handicraft workers in the state.
The scheme, which would benefit nearly 10,000 workers, would be implemented through the Rajiv Gandhi Shilpi Swasthya Bima Yojna.
The Kerala Artisans Corporation would implement the project in the state and according to the scheme the workers would get an insurance protection up to Rs one lakh, a release said here.
The Rajiv Gandhi Shilpi Swasthya Bima Yojna was aimed at financially enabling the artisans' community to access the best healthcare facilities in the country. This scheme will cover the artisan's family of four comprising self and any three out of spouse, dependant parents and children.
