Centre sanctions Rs 40 cr power revamp plan for Hisar
Chandigarh, Nov 12 (UNI) The Centre has sanctioned a scheme of Rs 40 crore to revamp and strengthen complete power transmission and distribution system in Hisar town.
A Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) official said here today that the scheme would be funded by the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) under the National Capital Region Scheme taken up by the Union Ministry of Urban Development.
This programme of the Central government envisages funding of activities related to upgradation of substations, creating high voltage distribution system in selected towns in NCR Zone so as to develop them as role models for centres of excellence.
Hisar town, he said, was a magnetic city of NCR Zone.
He said that under this scheme, the DHBVN planned to revamp and augment power transmission and distribution system in Hisar town by adding power transformers in substations, providing capacitor banks to improve power factor and better voltage at tail ends, replacing existing low capacity equipment and low capacity and old conductor of 33KV lines.
The Nigam would also provide additional distribution transformers to improve the low voltage problem and to meet the increasing load at Hisar. The scheme also included replacement of worn out conductor of distribution lines, creation of high voltage distribution system (HVDS) in slum areas, maintenance of distribution transformers, meters on transformers and relocation of consumer meters.
