Bangalore, Nov 13: On Thursday, Nov 13 local information service provider Asklaila announced a strategic partnership with the country's largest telecom service provider, Airtel, to power its city search services. The partnership enables Airtel customers to get up-to-date information about their city, free of cost, through Asklaila's extensive city information database.

The 'Airtel city search' would reach more than 30 million users across six cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Bangalore, a statement said. The service will be available across three screens -- the mobile, the PC and the TV and within the mobile service, across four modes like SMS, USSD, WAP and Airtel Live.

Kiran Konduri, co-founder of the city-based Asklaila said, ''We have seen tremendous growth in the usage of our service and having telecom leader Airtel as our partner will help us reach many more users, besides giving a significant fillip to mobile advertising and the use of mobile devices to search for city information.'' The service addresses two major challenges - providing accurate, credible and actionable local information and ground-up mobile-specific enhancements to leverage the advantage of multiple mobile modes.

It can be accessed in most of the handsets from an entry level Rs 2,000 cellphone to a high-end, feature rich mobile.
