220 women candidates in fray for assembly polls in MP

Bhopal, Nov 13: Altogether 381 women had come forward with the intention of contesting assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh but nominations of 112 candidates had been rejected, while 49 women withdrew their names.

Finally, a total of 220 women were in the fray for the assembly polls.

Fourteen women candidates were contesting from Rewa, while no woman candidate was in the fray from Sidhi.

The number of women candidates in other seats are as follows: Sheopur (2), Morena (4), Bhind (2), Gwalior (4), Datia (2), Shivpuri (9), Guna (3), Ashoknagar (1), Sagar (7), Tikamgarh (8), Chhatarpur (8), Damoh (2), Panna (3), Satna (10), Singrauli (5), Shahdol (3), Annupur (2), Umaria (5), Katni (5), Jabalpur (7), Dindori (4), Mandala (3), Balaghat (9), Seoni (9), Narsinghpur (3), Chhindwara (8), Betul (6), Harda (3), Hoshangabad (1), Raisen (3), Vidisha (6), Bhopal (5), Sehore (3), Rajgarh (1), Shajapur (1), Dewas (6), Khandwa (1), Burhanpur (2), Khargone (6), Barwani (3), Alirajpur (2), Jhabua (3), Dhar (8), Ujjain (4), Ratlam (4), Mandsaur (1) and Neeumch (1).
