Workers ransack office following death of a labourer in accident

Angul, Nov 12 (UNI) Irate workers today ransacked office of the private owned Bhushan steel Plant at Banarpal near here following the death of a labourer at the work site.

Police said one Himanshu Sahu(30) died after he was hit by a proclain machine from behind at the stage-II construction work site of the plant.

Mr Sahu was carried by his co-workers to a nearby nursing home, where he was declared dead.

Soon after irate workers ransacked the company office, demanding adequate compensation.

Police had arrested 12 people in connection with the incident and sent the body for post-morterm.

A worker was killed in an accident at the plant site about a fortnight ago.
