Viduchalai Chirutaigal Katchi demo leads to tension

Puducherry, Nov 12: Tension prevailed at the government general hospital area on Wednesday, Nov 12 when relatives of a rowdy, who was murdered and activists of Viduchalai Chirutaigal Katchi (VCK) staged a demonstration infront of the hospital.

The protestors, who came to collect the body of the rowdy Kannan after post-mortem, demanded immediate arrest of the real culprits in the murder. Police were deployed in the area. Howver, they demonstrated for an hour, collected the body and left.

All shops on the Anna Salai and Goubert Bazaar remained closed today also. They had downed the shutters immediately after the murder of Kannan inside a bar at around 1900 hours yesterday.

Police registered cases against seven persons, in connection with the case, including one K Senthil, and are on the look out for them.
