Ten killed, 14 injured as minibus plunges into Chenab in Doda

Doda, Jammu, Nov 12 (UNI) At least ten people were killed and 14 injured in an accident when a rashly-driven minibus plunged into Chenab river near Prem Nagar in this mountainous district today, official sources said.

The minibus was on its way from Thathri to Pul Doda this afternoon when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it skidded off the road and plunged into the river Chenab near Prem Nagar.

The minibus, after spinning on ground, entered the river waters, the eyewitnesses said, adding, searches were on for two missing passengers at the site of accident.

All the victims were shifted to the District Hospital, Doda.

Seven seriously injured were shifted to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, the source in the hospital said.
