Local bodies are to take up EMS Housing Project: CM

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 12 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today said the EMS Housing Project would be implemented through the local bodies in the state.

Cabinet meeting approved guidelines for implementing the project and directed the local bodies to earmark 15 per cent of their annual plan fund for it.

Briefing reporters, Mr Achuthanandan said his government would take steps to provide houses to all by 2010 and make available loans from co-operative banks at a maximum interest of ten per cent in this regard.
