K R Narayanan Foundation Award for ISRO Chief

Kochi, Nov 12: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman Dr G Madhavan Nair will be honoured with K R Narayanan Foundation Award this year.

Announcing this here on Wednesday, Nov 12, Selection Committee Chairman Justice K Narayanakurup said Dr Nair was selected for the award for his contributions in the fields of science and space technology in the country.

'' Dr Nair was the man behind the success of Chandrayan-I.

He has elevated India's image in the legion of world nations,'' he said.

The award, consisting of a citation, plaque and shawl, will be presented to him at a function in Thiruvananthapuram in January.

The award, instituted in the memory of former Indian President K R Narayanan, is given to eminent people in recognition of their achievements in various fields.
