Court verdict a result of conspiracy: CPI(M) to move higher court

Kolkata, Nov 12(UNI) Alleging that the court verdict against party leader Suhrid Dutta in the Tapasi Malik murder case was the result of a conspiracy, the CPI(M) today said it would move the higher court.

In a statement, the CPI(M) state committee said the force which was involved in violent acts to stall the Tata Motors's small car project at Singur, conspired against Dutta, a district committee member of the party, who had taken a lead role in motivating majority of the Singur farmers to give land for the car factory.

"They used CBI, the investigating agency, in this act," the statement alleged.

A fast track court today ordered life imprisonment to Dutta and Debu Malik, a CPI(M) worker for the murder of Tapasi whose charred body was found in a ditch at the Tata Motors small car project site in Singur on December 18, 2006.

The party also called upon its workers to make the people aware of the conspiracy.
