Colleges closed in K'taka over infiltrators from Bangladesh
Bangalore, Nov 12 (UNI) Most of the colleges in Karnataka remained closed in response to a nationwide 'College Bandh' call given by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in protest against largescale infiltration of Bangladeshis into the country.
ABVP Karnataka Secretary Thamesh Gowda said there was good response with more than 500 colleges remained closed in the State.
The agitators alleged that the infiltrators, who were indulging in terror activities disturbing peace in the country, should be identified immediately and deported to Bangladesh.
While colleges in Bijapur, Koppal, Mangalore, Karwar, Davanagere, and Dharwad districts remained closed, in some districts students boycotted classes in support of the agitation.
ABVP activists held demonstrations in many districts.
No untoward incident was reported from any parts of the state, police said.
