Amendments proposed in Act to cancel fake land registration

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 12 (UNI) The Kerala government today decided to amend the Registration Act to empower it to cancel fake land registration documents.

Briefing the media after a Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said the proposed amendments were also aimed at making registration of sale deed agreements compulsory.

He said certain clauses would be incorporated in the amendments such as no objection certificates from an official deputed by the government for handing over government and quasi-government lands.
