Action against more than 10,500 people in MP district
Shivpuri, MP, Nov 12 (UNI) In order to ensure free and fair assembly polls in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh, the Election Commission has taken prohibitory action against 10,612 people, issued externment orders to 67 people and detained 10 criminals under the National Security Act.
Superintendent of Police D C Sharma said today 490 people were arrested, permanent warrants executed, eight countrymade guns and about 80 stabbing weapons seized.
Illegal liquor, worth about Rs 1.25 lakh, was seized, while 9,048 out of 9,068 licensed weapons deposited.
Special vigil is being exercised on border areas of Shivpuri district bordering Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
