Naxalites torched Congress vehicle in CM's district

Raipur, Nov 11(UNI) Suspected naxalites torched a Congress campaign vehicle in the Mohala Manpur area of Rajnandgaon district today.

None was injured in the incident. However, a major incident was averted as Chief Minister Raman Singh addressed an election meeting near the spot just four hours ago.

Superintendent of police(SP) Rajnandgaon B K Choubey said around 1700 hrs suspected naxalites stopped the Congress campaign vehicle and burnt it after asking six people of the vehicle to getoff it immediately.

Mr Choubey said the naxalites escaped the scene after the incident and police was investigating the incident.

Rajnandgaon is the home district of CM Raman Singh and was contesting from here.
