Jamiathul-Ulema is opposed to enactment for polygamy ban
Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 11(UNI) Samastha Kerala Jamiathul-Ulema General Secretary Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musaliyar today said his organisation would oppose the move to bring in legislation against polygamy in the Muslim community.
Talking to reporters here, he said no legislation in this regard should be enacted as it was against the holy Quran.
Stating that there were sufficient laws to check polygamy, he warned of strong resistance if the practice was banned outrightly.
Stating that terrorism was against the teachings of Islam, the Musaliyar said all should work together for the security of the nation.
He urged the state government to take necessry steps for the implementation of the Narendran Commission recommendations on reservation.
