Kerala: Govt to distribute veg kits to check price

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 11: As part of checking steep prices of vegetables in Kerala, the state government proposes to take steps to distribute vegetable kits at Rs 18, Agriculture Minister Mullakkara Ratnakaran said toady.

Talking to reporters after a high-level conference of officials here, he said it was proposed to distribute two lakh vegetables kits by providing 30 per cent subsidy.

Pointing out that the crisis would continue 15 more days due to rain, he said the vegetable kits would be distributed during this period.

The government would procure vegetables directly from producing centres in Tamil Nadu or agencies entrusted by it, he added.
