BNCT militant arrested in Tripura

Agartala, Nov 11 (UNI) Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawans arrested a militant belonging to the outlawed BNCT from remote Thalcherra area of North Tripura last night.

Police here today said a group of BNCT extremists opened fire indiscriminately on the eighth battalion of the TSR when it was conducting special search operation in the area and the security personnel retaliated.

Later, the TSR detained BNCT militant Pabanjoy Tripura (22) from the spot. However, the rest of the extremists managed to flee under cover of the dense jungles, police added.
