Atiq Ahmad's wanted gang member surrenders in Allahabad
Lucknow, Nov 11 (UNI) Hamja Hussain, an active member and cousin of listed criminal Atiq Ahmad's gang, today surrendered before an Additional District and Sessions Judge Court in Allahabad, owing to the mounting pressure from the police.
Hussain, who was also carrying a bounty of Rs 20,000 on his head, surrendered before the court, which sent him to Naini jail (Allahabad) under Judicial custody.
Reports reaching here from Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) office said the notorious criminal was identified as a contract mafia in Shivkuti area. He was also accused of over 18 cases of heinous crimes, including murder, attempt to murder, fraud and slapped upon with the Gangster Act in his crime graph.
His property was also attached a number of times before.
Hussain happens to be the cousin of Atiq Ahmad, the expelled MP of the Samajwadi Party.
