A Kabir to deliver lecture at Human Rights seminar

Mumbai, Nov 11 (UNI) Supreme Court Judge A Kabir will deliver a lecture on 'Basic and Fundamental Human Rights', with special reference to 'right to live' on November 15 at the convocation hall of the Mumbai University in south Mumbai.

The department of law, Mumbai University, in association with the Rizvi Law college have jointly organised a seminar on Human Rights especially focusin on right to education and the right to life.

Chief Justice of Mumbai High Court Justice Swatenter Kumar will presided over the function, an official release said here today.

The motive of the seminar is that the right to education has been one of the fundamental foundations of the Indian Constitutional Law, however, since last 28 years of the constitutional governance the same has remained merely a paper declaration. In several cases, the apex court has rightly appreciated the constitutional value of right to education.

Despite these facts, the right to education is yet to become a living reality. Therefore, Law departments of the two colleges have organised this seminar, the release added.
