Three dead, 2 injured, in hit-and-run case near Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Nov 10 (UNI) In a hit-and-run case, an unidentified car driver mowed down three youths and seriously injured two others near Shilaj village, on the outskirts of the city, police said today.

The driver of the car knocked down five people and fled from the spot at around 2200 hrs last night, police sources said here today.

Later, police tracked down the car and impounded it.

Police have launched a manhunt to nab the driver.

Of the three deceased, two have been identified as Sardarji Prahladji Thakore and Ranchhodji Madhaji Thakore, who died on the spot, while the third victim, not yet identified, died at the Civil Hospital.

The injured, Samaji Maganji and Ramaji Chauhanji, were rushed to the civil hospital here, where their condition was stated to be critical.

Police have registered a case and further investigations are on.
