Tata group company TICL gets CII-EXIM bank prize 2008

Jamshedpur , Nov 10 (UNI) Leading tinplate producer of Asia and a Tata group company-- the Tinplate Company of India Limited (TCIL), has won the prestigious CII-EXIM Bank Prize for business excellence for the year 2008.

According to a press communique released by the company here this evening, the citation received by company Managing Director B L Raina recognized the transformation of the Company from 'Tinplate Producer' to 'Packaging Solution Provider'.

Mr Raina said the prize was a lifetime achievement for the people of TCIL. He added that this recognition would further spur and re-energize TCIL in its journey towards business excellence.

The TCIL plant here is a market leader in tinplate production in India and exports a major chunk of its produce to various asian countries. It has recently started its second tinning line to almost double its annual production capacity from 180,000 thousand tonnes to 380000 tonnes.
