PCC president ask DCC presidents to tone up party workers

Hyderabad, Nov 10 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President D Srinivas today asked the District Congress Committee Presidents (DCC) to gear up the party workers and take up activities in their respective areas to strengthen the party ahead of the coming elections next year.

Addressing a press conference after a review meeting with DCC Presidents, City Congress Presidents, PCC officer bearers and heads of frontal organisations, departments and cells, he asked them to tone up the party machinery in coordination with local MLAs and party workers.

He asked the DCC presidents to conduct review meetings in mandal and village-levels and obtain a feedback on the implementation of various people-oriented welfare schemes in the state and details of farmers on the loan waiver schemes.

The government would distribute Rs 5,000 each to farmers, who have paid loans on time, benefitting 32 lakh families, Mr Srinivas said adding the distribution of loans starting on former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's birthday on November 19, would be completed by November 30.

He asked party cadres to celebrate Children's Day on November 14 in a big way by distributing sweets and food in old age homes and orphanages besides honouring ten children in every district who excelled in all categories.

He said he would undertake district tours from November 20 to interact with party workers at the grassroot level.
