Over 33 lakh tonne paddy arrives in Haryana mandis

Chandigarh, Nov 10 (UNI) Over 33.99 lakh tonnes of paddy has arrived in the mandis of Haryana during the current Kharif season so far.

Stating this here today, a spokesman for the Food and Supplies Department said that out of the total paddy arrival, about 17.59 lakh tonnes had been procured by government agencies at the minimum support price and the remaining about 16.40 lakh tonnes had been purchased by the private millers and traders.

He said Hafed had procured 7.45 lakh tonnes of paddy, Food and Supplies Department 5.22 lakh tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 1.80 lakh tonnes, HWC 67,189 tonnes, FCI 8,454 tonnes and Confed 2.35 lakh tonnes.

He said district Kurukshetra was leading with the arrival of 6,76 lakh tonnes, followed by Karnal 5.76 lakh tonnes, Fatehabad 4.33 lakh tonnes, Kaithal 3.80 lakh tonnes, Ambala 3.14 lakh tonnes, Yamunanagar 2.36 lakh tonnes and Jind 2.07 lakh tonnes.

Similarly, 3.31 lakh tonnes of Bajra has arrived in the mandis of the state during the current Kharif season so far.

Out of the total Bajra arrival, 3.11 lakh tonnes had been procured by government agencies at the minimum support price and the remaining about 20,126 metric tonnes purchased by the private traders.
