Lalu dares Nitish to resign, also offers to quit from Ministry

Patna, Nov 10 (UNI) Rilway minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad today dared Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to resign, while he himself offered to step down from the Union Cabinet to protect the ''honour'' of the people of Bihar.

Speaking to mediapersons here, Mr Prasad said a fews days ago he had called for the en masse resignation of all MPs, MLAs and MLCs of Bihar to launch a nation-wide struggle to 'protect the honour of Biharis' across the nation.

''Leaders of all political parties from from the state should come on a single platform and float a non-political organisation to start an all India struggle for ensuring safety and security of the Biharis,'' he asserted.

''My request to all MPs, MLAs and MLCs from Bihar to quit was also aimed at fighting communalism and separatism, but Mr Kumar has worries to save his chair,'' Mr Prasad lamented and said the Chief Minister was trying to shrug off his responsibility by saying the post-resignation scenario would lead to imposition of the President's Rule in Bihar.

Presenting a new formula, which would not lead to imposition of the President's Rule in Bihar, Mr Prasad said while he himself was ready to quit the Union Ministry, Mr Kumar should also resign from the Chief Ministership of Bihar.
