Five envoys present credentials to President
New Delhi, Nov 10 (UNI) Five envoys presented credentials to President Pratibha Devisingh Patil at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan here today.
The envoys who presented their credentials are : Zady Gbaka Richard, Ambassador of Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Joseph Caron, the High Commissioner of Canada, Roberto Toscano, the Ambassador of Italy, Francisco L Benedicto, the Ambassador of the Philippines and Kenneth Thompson, the Ambassador of Ireland.
The President, during her interaction with the Heads of Mission, said India sought friendly relations with all countries and looked forward to strengthening ties, increasing trade and investment and people-to-people contact.
Observing that the world faced a series of challenges, like terrorism and financial crisis, the President said all countries would have to work jointly in a constructive and meaningful manner to address these challeneges.
