Kerala: First batch of tourists arrive
Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 8: The first batch of tourists from UK arrived here today, heralding another tourist season in Kerala.
The 283-strong team arrived at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport in a chartered flight 'Thomas Cook.'' The tourists arrived here after a ten and a half hour flight from Gatwick, the second busiest airport in the U K.
They were given a traditional welcome at the airport. Kerala Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Cherian Philip was present to receive them.
Some of the tourists would be staying in the state for a week and some others for a month, said Thomas Cook, the chief tour operators.
Every week, a chartered flight from the UK would land at Thiruvananthapuram till April, they said.
