Chandigarh, Nov 8 (UNI) Haryana Election Department would publish as well as display the draft photo electoral rolls in the local administration offices, post offices, polling stations, panchayat ghars and other public places from November 10 to November 25, 2008 for inspection by the electorate.

A spokesman of the Haryana Election Department said here today that Photo Electoral rolls of all the Assembly constituencies in Haryana were being revised on the directions of Election Commission of India with January 1, 2009 as the qualifying date.

The aim of revision was to prepare clean and error free photo electoral rolls with the help of public and political parties.

The name of voters who had died or had changed their addresses would be deleted from the list. The names of the persons who had become eligible to get their name registered in the voters lists for first time being eligible on January 1, 2009 or earlier would be added.

He said that all kinds of errors in the names of voters, spellings of name, sex, age, relation, home address, photo or serial number of photo identity cars would be corrected. For this purpose, the people had to apply in form no. 8 and in case of fresh registration of voters, one has to apply in form no -6.

Any one could file objection in form No.7 against any wrong enlistment. For getting the name transferred from one polling booth to another within assembly constituency or otherwise, one would have to apply in form No-8A.

These errors could be corrected by submitting the specific form to the Electoral Registration Officer from November 10, 2008 to November 25, 2008. These forms could also be submitted to the officers designated by the Electoral Registration Officer.

He said that with a view to facilitate the job of such applicants, a special campaign would be launched on November 16 and 23, both Sundays. On these days the designated officers would remain present at their specified polling stations already set up near the residence of electors.
