JK: 40 traders booked for violation of law in Reasi

Jammu, Nov 8: Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) department booked 40 traders for violating law in Reasi town of Jammu and Kashmir, an official spokesman today said.

A special squad, constituted by the Reasi Deputy Commissioner Sanjeev Verma conducted raids in Reasi town and booked 40 traders for violation of various provisions of law, the spokesman said.

Besides, Rs 6,500 was imposed as fine which was released from them on the spot, the spokesman added.

About one quintal of unwholesome vegetables and fruits were also destroyed by the team.

The team also seized 25 domestic cylinders being used in commercial establishments in the town, besides some bottles of sub-standard mustard oil.

The special squad also asked the shopkeepers to display rate lists of items at their business establishments so that the customers may not feel any hesitation while purchasing, the spokesman said.
