Hyderabad, Nov 7: Senior leaders of the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) were taken into custody when they staged a sit-in in front of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's Camp office here on Friday, Nov 7, demanding a meeting with Dr Reddy to hand over the CDs and photographs on the projects being constructed by the Maharashtra Government on river Godavari.

A group of TDP leaders, including Parliament Member E Dayakara Rao, Former Ministers K Srihari and Venugopalachari reached the camp office to hand over the CDs and photographs on the near completion of 11 projects being ''illegally'' constructed by the Maharashtra Government.

However, the security personnel did not allow them to meet the Chief Minister.

The TDP leaders alleged the State Government and the Centre had not taken any steps to stop the illegal construction.

Police said 30 to 35 TDP leaders were taken into custody. They were later released.
