Sachar Sangharsh to protest during Maharashtra winter session
Mumbai, Nov 7 (UNI) Rajendar Sachar Sangharsh Samiti, an NGO working for implementation of Justice Sachar Committee report and for the upliftment of the minority community, today announced that it will organise a protest rally in Nagpur on December one during the winter session of the Maharashtra Assembly.
Addresing a news conference at the Haj House in south Mumbai, BJP MLC Pasha Patel, who is also the president of the Samiti, said in the previous session in Nagpur, the state goverment had assured the House of implementing the report in the state.
The state, however, failed to implement the recommendations of the report, he pointed out.
He said ''our protest will be a unique silent protest, with participants tying their hands with ropes against the government's failure to implement the report.'' Mr Patel said, ''we will also protest against the growing terrorism and the government's failure to tackle it.'' In the rally, people from across the state will participate, he added.
