Puducherry,Nov 7(UNI) AIADMK State Secretary A Anbazhagan, MLA today charged the police saying it had became a ''puppet'' in the hands of the Congress.
Addressing the press here, Mr Anbazhagan said the Congress was responsible for the deterioration of law and order in the State and added during the last six months, party volunteers indulged in acts against the law.
The Congress was gradually adopting a 'culture of violence' at the 'instigation of Union Minister of State for Planning V Narayansamy,he charged.
Mr Anbazhagan said the Opposition parties which point out to the wrong deeds of the Congress was being directly threatened and those who agitated within the frame work of democracy were being arrested.
However,those shouting slogans in support of LTTE were allowed to go free.
Mr Anbazhagan urged the direct intervention of Lt Governor Govind Singh Gurjar to maintain law and order situation in the Union Territory.
On the shuffling of PCS officers here yesterday, Mr Anbazhagan charged the administration has shown favouritism to those ''wanted'' adding nine officials were given additional charge while no action was taken to fill up the 23 vaccant posts.
Certain others were holding the posts for more than six years,he claimed.
