Eastern Seaboard conference inaugarated
Visakhapatnam, Nov 7(UNI) Union Minister of State for Defence M M Pallam Raju today inaugurated the two-day Eastern Seaboard Conference hosted by Eastern Naval Command(ENC) at Samudrika Naval auditorium.
Speaking after inaugurating the Seaboard Conference here, he said a wide range of maritime subjects focus on oil exploration in ports and ONGC including ''Emerging Geo-Strategic and Geo-Political Landscape''.
He said the rapid development of ports, offshore, assets, sea-borne trade and the changing global security scenario mandate a better understanding of inter-related issues among all the stakeholders both in government and in non-governmental agencies including the corporate world.
The Eastern Sea Board Conference aims to promote this understanding to a wide array of emergent maritime issues, particularly off the east coast, he added.
He also underlined the need to strengthen the western and eastern coast in the country for security measures.
The domestic imperatives of India's growing engagement with Asia-Pacific-LOOK East Policy, Genesis, Impact of the current status and outlook, prognosis and challenges for very important conference will be discussed during the two days.
