Dr Velu to unveil Kalka-Shimla heritage status plaque on Nov 9
Chandigarh, Nov 7 (UNI) To mark the inscription of Kalka-Shimla Railway line as a World Heritage Site, Ministry of Railways is organising a dedication ceremony in Kalka in Haryana on November 9.
Minister of State for Railways Dr R Velu would unveil a plaque declaring the 104-year-old Kalka-Shimla Railway line as World Heritage Site.
The Kalka-Shimla Railway, constructed in 1898 and opened for traffic in the year 1903, is known for breathtaking views of the hills and surrounding villages and for having the greatest incline over its 96 km stretch.
