BSNL to lay underground cable lines to Singapore, Europe
Kolkata, Nov 7 (UNI) The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) would lay three underground cable lines, two of them extended up to Singapore and Europe, Company CMD Kuldeep Goyal said today.
Talking to newspersons after launching ''Data Card'' here, Mr Goyal said the joint venture would be implemented in collaboration with Millenium Telecommunication Ltd and MTNL.
He informed that while one underground cable line would be laid from Digha to Singapore, another one was likely to be stretched from Mumbai to Europe.
Deliberations were on in regard to laying of the third cable line, he said.
The total cost of the project, to be completed in three years, was estimated at Rs 300 crore, Mr Goyal said, adding that tenders were being floated in this regard.
Referring to the ''Data Card,'' he said the system would open a new vista of voice and high speed wireless internet services at rock bottom prices.
