BHEL employees Coop Bank shines in deposits

Tiruchirapalli, Nov 7: The BHEL Employees Cooperative Bank here has been ranked top among the urban cooperative banks in Tamil Nadu in mobilisation of deposits during the year ending March 31, 2008 by garnering Rs 253.89 crore, according to bank sources.

The sources said here on Friday, Nov 7 the bank was ranked among the first 50 urban cooperative banks in deposit mobilisation in the country. It registered a net profit of Rs 3.28 crore during 2007-08. This was Rs 1.31 crore more than the net profit earned in 2006-07. The bank, which came into being in 1967, is at present functioning with a record number of 10,978 members.
