Western Rly announces cash award for ticket inspectors

Ahmedabad, Nov 6 (UNI) The General Manager of the Western Railway (WR) has announced a cash award of Rs 20,000 to the ticket-checking staff of the Vadodara division after taking into consideration their excellent work.

Railway sources said here today that during Deepawali festival season, the ticket checking staff of Vadodara division had made a record highest earnings. In October, total 29,552 cases were detected and Rs 1,12,54,086 were realised from the defaulters.

On October 26, the ticket-checking staff detected a total 2,172 cases of irregular travel and collected an amount of Rs 9,36,903 from them as penalty. Similarly on October 27, a total of 2,314 cases of irregular travel were detected and Rs 10,01,176 collected as penalty.

In view of their exemplary work, the cash award was announced, sources added.
