Robbers loot Rs 40 lakh from GPO in Punjab

Jalandhar, Nov 6 (UNI) Four robbers looted Rs 40 lakh from the General Post Office (GPO) in the city here last night SP (city) S K Kalia told mediapersons today.

The robbers entered the post office at around 2100 hrs and overpowered the chowkidar and another employee of the GPO. After locking them in a room they broke open the locks of the strong room of the GPO. They then looted Rs 40 lakh and escaped.

The police was informed of the robbery this morning.
