Pontiff inaugurated hostel for dalits and tribals

Mysore, Nov 6(UNI) The Pejawar mutt in Udupi have planned to built hostels for the benefit of students of Dalits under its Social service project, Mutt pontiff Vishveshwara Theertha Swamiji said here today.

Speaking after laying foundation stone for a free hostel to be built by the Mutt, the Swamiji said that such efforts would help the students of oppressed classes to come up as a valuable citizens of the society.

He said that the free-hostel being built by the Mutt would admit students of poor sections from Dalit, tribal and backward communities.

"The Mutt have planned to build several such hostels in various parts of the state" he said.
