NHRC notice to Haryana Govt on killing of Kuldeep by police
New Delhi, Nov 6 (UNI) The National Human Rights Commission has issued notices to Haryana Government officials on the killing of an innocent youth by the police in Bhiwani and asked them to file a report on the incident within eight weeks.
It took suo motu cognizance of a media report on the killing of 22-year-old student Kuldeep by the Hisar Police near Bhiwani due to mistaken identity.
The Commission yesterday issued notice to the Director General of Police, Haryana, District Magistrate, Bhiwani, SP, Hisar and Bhiwani to take appropriate action with regard to investigation of the case and has asked for a report in the incident within eight weeks.
The Commission has also sought magisterial enquiry report on the incident, alongwith the post mortem report.
Kuldeep Kumar, a student from Vaish college of Bhiwani, was killed by policemen late on November 2 while he was returning home from a party. Two of his brothers were also accompanying him at the time of the incident.
