Lankan Tamil Relief Fund's touches Rs 9.16 cr

{image-Sri Lankan Tamils Relief Fund_06112008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Chennai, Nov 6: People from various walks of life contributed to the Sri Lankan Tamils Relief Fund, being collected by the Tamil Nadu governent, even as the amount touched Rs 9.16 crore till on Thursday, Nov 6.

An official release here said Madras Cements contributed Rs 15 lakh, Madras University, Madurai Kamaraj University and Bharatidsan University Rs ten lakh each, Anna University (Trichy) Rs three lakh, Tiruvallurvar University Rs two lakh. Film actor Kamal Hassan contributed Rs five lakh, Vishal Rs three lakh and actor Jeeva Rs one lakh, VCK Leader Thol Thirumavalavan Rs 2.5 lakh, Abirami Ramanathan Rs two lakh, and Kalaignar TV news readers Rs 13,750, the release added.
