Kashmir and Ladakh region experience coldest night
Srinagar, Nov 6 (UNI) The Kashmir valley and Ladakh region experienced the coldest night of this season so far, as Western Disturbances (WD) from Pakistan entered the region.
It was the coldest night of this winter sofar in the valley after the minimum temperature dipped to 1.5 degrees Celcius, two degrees below normal this morning.
The major part of the day also remained partially cloudy, resulting in cold.
Leh, in Ladakh region, going to polls along with nine other Assembly segments in the state on November 17, was also the coldest, after the minimum temperature dipped to minus seven.
This was the coldest night sofar in Leh, where temperature goes down to minus 20 to 25 degrees at some places during winter.
Kargil also recorded minus 1.6 degrees this morning, while temperature of the nearby Drass, the second coldest place in the world after Siberia, was not available.
Meanwhile, the WD from Arabian sea have entered the region through Afghanistan and Pakistan.
