Govt not mulling over cut in retail fuel prices: Pandey
New Delhi, Nov 6 (UNI) Petroleum Secretary R S Pandey today said the government is not mulling over any downward revision in the prices of sensitive products like petrol, diesel and LPG.
''There is nothing under active consideration about slashing prices,'' Mr Pandey told reporters here.
Last time, the government had raised fuel prices in June, increasing the cost of petrol and diesel by about 10 per cent.
He said the public sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) such as Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum are still losing revenues as they sell fuel at the prices fixed by the government.
''Oil marketing companies are still making under recoveries,'' he said.
