Congress welcomes ESI Medical College in Mandi

Shimla, Nov 6 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) president Kaul Singh Thakur today welcomed the central government's announcement to set up an ESI Medical College in Mandi.

"It is a second gift to Mandi district by the UPA government who had already approved the establishment of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in the district," Mr Thakur said while addressing a press conference here.

Union Labour Minister Oscar Fernandes has allocated Rs 500 crore for the hospital with 50 seats for the MBBS doctors having 50 per cent reservation for the Himachali students.
