CCEA approves payment for broadening channel at Cochin Port
New Delhi, Nov 6 (UNI) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today gave its approval to Capital Dredging for deepening and widening of the approach channel and berth basin of International Container Trans-shipment Terminal (ICTT) in Cochin Port at an estimated cost of Rs 381.25 crore.
Under the project, the channel will provide a draft of 14.5 meter at Vallarpadam.
The amount will be funded through grant-in-aid of Rs 297.42 crore by the government and loan assistance of Rs 83.83 crore, Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Prithviraj Chavan said at a media briefing here.
The project will be executed by Cochin Port Trust, an autonomous body under Department of Shipping.
