Two minors drown in Koel river during Chhat puja celebrations
Rourkela, Nov 05 (UNI) Two children drowned in Koel river this morning while they were offering obeisance to the rising sun on the occasion of Chhat puja.
Police said Bharat Kumar Singh (12) and Raj Kumar Singh (13), both residents of Golghar area, had gone to Sector 16 ghat of Koel river along with others to observe the Chhat celebrations.
Both the boys slipped into the river and drowned. The Sector 16 police, with the help of fire brigade personnel, launched a search operation to fish out the bodies from the river.
