Two Afghans deported to Kochi for travelling on fake passports
Kochi, Nov 5 (UNI) Two Afghan nationals, including a woman, who left from the Kochi International Airport yesterday, were deported here from Colombo this morning as they were found to be travelling on allegedly forged passports.
The two, identified as Hameed Abbasi (28) and Merhabha Fathima (24), had reportedly confessed to having got the fake passports from an agent in Mumbai, airport sources said.
The duo would be further questioned by IB and RAW personnel to examine whether they belonged to any terrorist groups, they added.
The two, claiming to be husband and wife, had left Kochi International Airport by a Sri Lankan Airlines flight for Colombo on way to Frankfurt yesterday.
On their deportation here this morning from Colombo, the two were grilled by Emigration personnel. The couple reportedly confessed that they met in Mumbai in September and had got the passports on paying 6,000 US Dollars to an agent.
